If one of the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial \[{{x}^{2}}+\text{ }3x\text{ }+\text{ }k\] is 2, then the value of k is

    A) 10

    B) -10

    C) -7

    D) -2

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Given, 2 is the zero of the quadratic polynomial. We have,
    \[f\left( x \right)={{x}^{2}}+3x+k\]
    \[f\left( 2 \right)=0\]
    \[\Rightarrow \,{{\left( 2 \right)}^{2}}+3\times 2+k=0\]
    \[\Rightarrow \,\,4+6+k=0\]
    \[\Rightarrow k=-10\].
