    If 2 is a zero of polynomial \[f\left( x \right)=a{{x}^{2}}-3\left( a-1 \right)x-1\]then the value of a is

    A) 0

    B) 2

    C) \[\frac{5}{2}\]

    D) \[\frac{1}{2}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Given,  \[f\left( x \right)=a{{x}^{2}}-3\left( a-1 \right)x-1\]
     and 2 is zero of \[f\left( x \right)\],
                            \[f\left( 2 \right)=0\]
                            \[f\left( 2 \right)=a{{\left( 2 \right)}^{2}}-3\left( a-1 \right)\times 2-1\]
                            \[0=4a-6a+6-1\]
                            \[2a=5\]
                            \[a=\frac{5}{2}\]
