The radius of the wheel of a bus is 25 cm. If the speed of the bus is 33 km/h, then how many revolutions will the wheel make in 1 min?

    A) 250

    B) 520

    C) 420

    D) 350

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

In 1 h, distance covered by wheel = 33 km
In 1 min, distance covered by wheel
                \[=\frac{33\times 1000}{60}m=550\,m\]
Now, number of revolutions made in 1 min
                \[=\frac{Distance\text{ }covered\text{ }by\text{ }wheel}{Circumference\text{ }of\text{ }the\text{ }wheel}\]
                \[=\frac{550}{2\times \frac{22}{7}\times \frac{25}{100}}\]
       \[\left[ \because \,\,\,25cm=\frac{25}{100}\,m \right]\]
                \[=\frac{550\times 7\times 100}{2\times 22\times 25}=350\]
