    What are the different types of economic acclivities? Explain with help of examples.

    Answer:

    Economic activities can be classified into three main catogries - Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. (a) Primary: These activities involve obtaining products directly from nature in the same form. These activities include forestry, agriculture, fishing, mining, animal husbandry and paultry farming. Such activities produce food products, fibres, fuels and minerals etc. from the natural resources. (b) Secondary: These activities transform raw materials into finished products. This sector adds value to the primary products. Raw materials are processed by manufacturing industries to produce finished goods, e.g., cotton textiles producing yarn and cloth from cotton, sugar mills manufacturing sugar from sugar canes; manufacturing of iron and steel from coal and iron. (c) Tertiary: This sector does not produce any tangible good but produce wide range of personal and professional services. These occupations are in the field of education, heath, trade, transport banking, communication and administration etc. They provide basic services to the community
