Sneha and Sidak have Rs. 41 altogether. \[\frac{1}{4}\]of Sneha's money is Rs. 2 more than \[\frac{1}{7}\] of Sidak's money. How much money Sneha has?

    A)  \[Rs.27.5\]

    B)  Rs.20

    C)  \[Rs.30.50\]

    D)              Rs.29

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Let Sneha has Rs. x                    \[\therefore \]  Sidak has \[Rs.(41-x)\]                     According to question, \[\frac{1}{4}\] of   \[x=2+\frac{1}{7}(41-x)\]             \[\Rightarrow \] \[\frac{1}{4}x=2+\frac{41}{7}-\frac{x}{7}\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[\frac{1}{4}x+\frac{1}{7}x=\frac{14+41}{7}\Rightarrow \left( \frac{7+4}{28} \right)x=\frac{55}{7}\] \[\Rightarrow \]\[\frac{11}{28}x=\frac{55}{7}\Rightarrow \,x=\frac{55\times 28}{11\times 7}\Rightarrow x=20\] \[\therefore \]   Sneha has Rs.20.
