    Why do we need a higher bandwidth for transmission of music compared to that for commercial telephonic communication?          

    Answer:

                    Speech signals contain frequencies between 300 Hz to 3100 Hz. Such signals require a small band- width of 2800 Hz for telephonic communication. Audio signals have frequencies between 20 Hz to 20 kHz. So, the transmission of a good music requires a higher band- width of about 20 kHz.
