           \[_{84}{{X}^{218}}\to {{\,}_{84}}{{Y}^{214}}+x{{\,}_{+2}}{{\alpha }^{4}}+y{{\,}_{-1}}{{\beta }^{0}}\]                    no. of a-particle = \[\frac{218-214}{4}=\frac{4}{4}=1\]                                 no. of b-particle = \[84-84+2\times 1=2\].
