B and A must not have anybody adjacent to their rooms. There is only an empty room between A and F. C is adjacent to both G and F. E is next to the room at the beginning.
What is the maximum number of consecutive rooms that are occupied?

    A)  2

    B)         3

    C)  1

    D)         4

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Four consecutive rooms are occupied. From the question, we get following information: (i)            (ii)           (iii)          (iv)         GFC                        or FCG We can't place, A, F and C at the end of the row. Also, B and G cannot occupy room no. 1. So, first room will be empty and B or G can occupy last room. If G is in last room, the arrangement will be given below:                 But, B cannot occupy room no.-3 or room-4 because it does not satisfy condition (ii). Hence, B is in last room. Again there are two possibilities.                 This arrangement violates condition (ii).                 This is right arrangement.
