    Explanation Income of \[\operatorname{X} = 4x\] and income of \[\operatorname{Y}= 5x\] Expenditure of \[\operatorname{X} = 7y\] and expenditure of \[\operatorname{Y} = 9y\] \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,\,4x-7y=100\]   .......... (i) \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,\,5x-9y=100\]   .......... (ii) On solving (i) and (ii), we get \[\operatorname{x} = 200 and y = 100.\] Thus, expenditure of x will be  $ 700
