    Shifting agriculture

    Answer:

Shifting Agriculture is a very primitive method of agriculture practised in remote, thickly forested areas. Trees are felled to clear land for cultivation, and then they are burned. The ash provides nutrition to the soil for crops like maize, yams and potatoes, etc. The top soil is thin and gets washed away by heavy rains so the soil fertility islost very fast. After the land becomes infertile, it is abandoned and new plot of land is cultivated. There is a low farm output with manual labour and simple tools.
