    Intensive subsistence agriculture is carried on in the densely populated monsoon regions. South, S.E and East Asia. The farms are small in size and the level of technology varies, for example, Japan and India. Farming is done with high yielding seeds, machines, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. Two crops may be grown simultaneously in a year on the same land, it is known as double cropping. Crop rotation is also practiced.
