                           (a) Music The sound which is pleasant to the ears, is called music. It is produced by regular periodic vibrations. There is no sudden change in loudness. For example, sound produced from a tabla. Noise The sound which is non-pleasant to the ears, is called noise. It is produced at irregular intervals. There is sudden change in its loudness. For example, sound produced in a market and the sound produced by an explosion.          (b) Tone The sound of single frequency, is called a tone. Note The sound which is a mixture of several frequencies, is called a note.
