Sohan's grandmother used to keep water in an earthen pot. In summer season this earthen pot did not keep water cool. Sohan suggested to his grandmother to change the pot into new one. As such pot was old and its pores were closed by dusty particles that's why pot did not keep water cool.       Read the above passage and answer the following questions. (i) How does the water kept in an earther pot cool? (ii) What are the values displayed by Sohan?

Answer:

                (i) As the water oozes out of the pores of the earthen pot, it evaporates partly taking heat energy from the water within the pot. This continues and the temperature of water within pot falls hence, water becomes cool. (ii) The values shown by Sohan are general awareness and social responsibility.
