      The food that we eat is decreasing both in quantity and in quality. What steps can be employed to improve this condition, when the population is increasing drastically?          

    Answer:

                      The following steps can be taken to improve the condition of food for present as well as future (i) By selecting good variety of crop having desirable agronomic traits. Such varieties can be developed using hybridisation technique. (1) (ii) The field should be kept fertile and nutrient rich. The field should be managed properly. (iii) By using high yielding variety seeds for high yield per acre.                                   (1) (iv) By using a beneficial cropping pattern either mixed cropping or crop rotation. (v) By improving the irrigation facilities and bringing more and more agricultural land under irrigation.                                                        (1)
