(i) Mention the advantage of using such farming. (ii) What is the main problem of such type of farming? How do farmers overcome such problems?

    Answer:

Composite fish culture system is observed by Rakesh. (i) In this system, combination of five or six fish species used in a single pond. These fishes have different food habits and they do not compete for food. As a result the food available in all parts of pond is used. e.g., catlas are surface feeders, rohu feeds in middle zones, mrigals and common carps are bottom feeders and grass carps feeds on weeds.                                                                           (2) (ii) Main problem in such farming system is that many of these fishes breeds only during monsoon and there is lack of good quality of seed. To overcome this problem hormonal stimulation of fishes could be done, which ensure the supply of pure fish seed in desired quantities.                                                                    (3)
