(b) It maintain soil fertility. (c) It ensures maximum utilisation of nutrient supplied. (d) It prevents pests and diseases from spreading to all the plants belonging to one crop in a field.                                           (2)
    Intercropping It is a practice of growing two or more crops simultaneously in definite pattern. Mixed Cropping It is practice of growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land.
    It target to increase productivity per unit area. It target to minimise the risk of total crop failure.
    Seeds of two crops are not mixed before sowing. Seeds of two crops are mixed before sowing.
    Both crops are easily threshed and harvested. Harvesting and threshing both crops separately not possible.
