What is up thrust? State two factors on which the magnitude of buoyant force acting on an object immersed in liquid depends. When a partially immersed body is pressed down a little, what will happen to the up thrust?

    Answer:

The upward force acting on an object immersed in a liquid is known as up thrust or buoyant force.      It depends on the following two factors (i) Volume of object immersed in the liquid. (ii) Density of the liquid.                       When partially immersed body is pressed down a little, the up thrust exerted by the liquid increases.
