Raunak took 5 moles of C atoms in a container and Krish also took 5 moles of sodium atoms in another container of same weight. Whose container is heavier? Whose container has more number of atoms?

    Answer:

       (a) 1 mole of C contains 6.022 x 1023 atoms 5 moles of C will contain 5 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms Molar mass of C = 12 g  6.022 x 1023 C atoms have mass =12 g  5 x 6.022 x 1023 C atoms have mass  On the other hand, mole of Na contains 6.022 x 1023 atoms 5 mole of Na contains 5 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms Molar mass of Na = 23 g  6.022 x 1023 Na atoms have mass = 23 g  5 x 6.022 x 1023 Na atoms have mass Therefore, the container having sodium atoms will be heavier.                                (b) Both containers have equal number of atoms, i.e., 5 x 6.022 x 1023 = 30.110 x 1023 atoms =3.01 1x1024 atoms
