Calculate the following quantities in 5.6 g  of nitrogen [Atomic mass of N = 14 u] (a) Number of moles of (b) Number of molecules of (c) Number of atoms of nitrogen. Or A vessel contains 5.6 grams of  gas. Calculate the number of moles of  gas, number of nitrogen molecules and number of nitrogen atoms if the atomic mass of and  per mole.

    Answer:

       (a) 1 molecule of hydrogen gas contains 2 atoms of hydrogen 1 dozen of molecules = 24 atoms of H 6.022 x 1023 molecules of Ha =1 mol 12 molecules ofmoles 6.022 x1023                                       = 1.99 x10-23 moles (b) Hydrogen : Oxygen (by mass)= 1: 8 = 2 g : 16 got oxygen 1 mole of  combines withmole of oxygen mole combines with oxygen moles = 2 : 1
