                  Initially, she did not like him as she wanted to have a Pomeranian. Due to her dislike, Hooper was hesitant to bring Duke home. But when Hooper began to recover due to Duke's miraculous help and support, she developed a liking for him. She had grown so fond of him that at the time of his accident, she did not let anyone touch him and carried him to the car herself.
