When two bodies move uniformly towards each other, the distance between them decreases by 6 metres/second. If both the bodies move in the same direction with their same speeds, the distance between them increase by 4 metres/second. What are the speeds of the two bodies.

    Answer:

                    (i) Since, speed is a scalar quantity and speedometer reads instantaneous speed of the car, hence both the cars have same speed. (ii) Since, velocity is a vector quantity, hence both the cars are having opposite velocities as they are moving in opposite directions. (iii) Relative velocity of car A w.r.t. car \[B={{\upsilon }_{A}}+{{\upsilon }_{B}}=(50km/h+50km/h)=100km/h\] due east.
