      What is the difference between personal communication and mass communication? State any two points of importance of mass communication.

    Answer:

                      Personal communication is ' verbal, written or electronic communication between one person and another. This can be a verbal or telephonic conversation, a letter, an e-mail or an SMS. A mass communication is between one person and a mass of people or between two groups of people. Usually the 'media' are called the means of mass communication, which include newspapers,. television and radio channels, the Internet, etc. The importance of mass communication is due to (i) providing entertainment and information to people at their homes efficiently and quickly. (ii) creating awareness among people about various national programmes and policies.
