In the LCR circuit shown in Fig. 4(EP).33, the ac driving voltage is (i) Write down the equation of motion for. (ii) At the voltage source stops and R is short circuited. Now write down how much energy is stored in each of L and C. (iii) Describe subsequent motion of charges.

    Answer:

                      (i) In the circuit shown in Fig. 4(EP).33.                                                   When driving voltage is applied, the valid equation for the circuit with usual notation is                   ??(i) This is the equation of motion for . Let       and (ii) When source stops at  and R is short circuited, energy is stored in L and C. and                                                (iii) When R is short circuited, the circuit becomes an LC oscillator. The capacitor will go on discharging till all energy goes to L, and back to C again. This keeps on repeating indefinitely.
