How is Mukesh’s attitude to his situation different from that of his family?

    Answer:

Mukesh's father toiled first as a tailor, then as a bangle maker but could not do anything for his family except teach them the art of making bangles. His grandmother accepted her husband's going blind from polishing bangles as 'his karam, his destiny'. She believes that they cannot break their 'god-given lineage'. However, Mukesh does not want to pursue this trade. He is determined to become a car mechanic.
