    Pig iron. The iron obtained from blast furnace is called pig iron. In it, carbon contents are nearly four percent (4%). Cast iron. It is made by melting pig iron with scrap iron and coke using a hot blast of air. It contains carbon to the extent of nearly three percent (3%).
