                      When \[x=0,\] total energy of the particle is equal to the potential energy. Hence, velocity and hence K.E. of the particle is zero. As \[x\] increases, P.E. decreases and velocity and hence K.E. of the particle increases. Between C and D, potential energy is zero. Hence, entire total energy of the particle is equal to its K.E. In other words, velocity and K.E. increases. After point D, P.E. increases linearly. Therefore, velocity and K.E. of the particle decreases.
