    Some problems faced by farmers during the initial years of organic farming are as follows (i) Existing infrastructure is inadequate for taking up organic farming on a large scale. (ii) The yields from organic farming are less than modern agricultural tanning in the initial years. Therefore, small and marginal farmers may find it difficult to sustain production. (iii) There are problems of marketing the products as there is little awareness about the benefits from organic farming and the price of organic food is high. (iv) Organic produce may also have more blemishes and a shorter shelf life than conventional produce sprayed with pesticides. (v) Choice In production of off-season crops is quite limited in organic farming.
