      What is a monograph?

    Answer:

                      Monograph is a specialist work of writing or information on a particular taxon, i.e., family or genus or on aspect of subject, usually by a single author. Main purpose of monograph is to present primary research and original work and thus is non-serial publication, complete in one book (volume) of a finite number of volumes.
