Consumer awareness can be spread in the following ways.

(i) Consumer Movements: For protecting and promoting the interest of consumers against unethical and unfair trade practices, various consumer movements were launched.

(ii) Consumer Protection Act: It is popularly known as COPRA. As a result of various consumer movements and international guidelines. Government of India enacted Consumer Protection Act in 1986. Various consumer rights as mentioned in COPRA are right to safety, right to be informed, right to choose, right to representation, right to seek redressal and right to consumer education.

(iii) Consumer Court: Subsequently consumer court have been set up to provide justice to consumers who have been treated improperly in the market place.

(iv) A major step in 1986 by the Indian Government was the enactement of the ?Consumer Protection Act, 1986?, now popularly known as COPRA. (Any three)
