Study the cartoon given below carefully and answer the questions that follow:

(i) Identify the country related to this cartoon.

(ii) Evaluate the system of governance being practiced in this country,

(iii) How is the system of governance in India different from that of the country related to the cartoon?

Answer:

(i) Country shown in cartoon is - Pakistan

(ii) (The cartoon was prepared when Musharraf was in power)-Pervez Musharraf was the President and Army General of Pakistan. If head of country like President is also an Army Chief, the power gets doubled. If the President and Army Chief is different person when the power becomes half. And in case the president tries to ignore the orders or suggestions of Army Chief, then the system power will become zero.

(iii) Indian government is democratic government whereas, Pakistan government is run by military.

In India, other political parties or public has the freedom of expression, electing the governments, media has freedom to write in favour or against the government. In Pakistan, any opposition party or citizen cannot speak against the policies of Pakistan Government. If they do so are being suppressed and put in jail.
