(b) The crofter was a lonely old man who had no wife or a child. He wanted someone to talk to, therefore, he allowed the peddler to spend the night at his house. He nor only gave him shelter, but also gave him food to ear and tobacco to smoke. He started a conversation with him and told him everything about himself and his earnings.
