    A bag contains 50 p, 25 p and 10 p coins in the ratio of 5 : 9 : 4, amounting to Rs. 206. Find the total number of coins?

    A) 700

    B) 720

    C) 668

    D) 672

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    If Ratio of 50p, 25p and 10p coins                             = 5 : 9 : 4 Then, Ratio of 50p, 25p and 10p in rupees \[=\frac{5}{2}:\frac{9}{4}:\frac{4}{10}\] \[=50:45:8\] Now,     \[50x+45x+8x=206\] \[103x=206\] \[x=2\] Now, Total number of coins \[=50\times 2\times 2+45\times 2\times 4+8\times 2\times 10\] \[=200+360+160\] \[=720\]
