    Solution :

    Suppose present age of Harsha = x years and present age of Shyam = y years. Then, 3 years ago, \[x-3=2\,\,(y-3)\] \[x-3=2y-6\] \[x-2y=-\,\,3\]                ..... (1) and 7 years hence, \[x+7+y+7=83\] \[x+y=69\]                    ...... (2) On solving (1) and (2), \[x=45,\,\,y=24\] Hence, the present age of Harsha = 45 years
