The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 m. If it's length is twice it's breadth, then it's area is?

    A) \[160\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    B) \[180\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    C) \[20\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    D) \[200\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    Let the breadth of rectangle be \[x\] metre the perimeter       \[=2x+4x\] \[=6x=60\,\,m\] \[x=\frac{60}{6}=10\,\,m\] \[\because \]       \[Breadth\,\,x=10\,\,metre\] \[\because \]       \[Length=10\times 2=20\,\,metre\] Area of the rectangle \[=10\times ~20=200\,\,square\,\,metre\]
