RAJASTHAN PMT Rajasthan - PMT Solved Paper-2009

  • question_answer
The equivalent capacitance of the circuit will be

    A)  \[\text{1}\text{F}\]

    B)  \[\text{3}\text{F}\]

    C)  \[\text{9}\text{F}\]

    D)         \[\text{4}\text{F}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Capacitors of capacitances \[1.5\mu F\] and \[1.5\mu F\] are in parallel, therefore their resultant capacitance, Now, all three capacitors are in series therefore, their resultant capacitance C will be given by                 \[\frac{1}{C}=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}=\frac{3}{3}\]                 \[C=1\,\mu F\]
