RAJASTHAN PMT Rajasthan - PMT Solved Paper-2003

  • question_answer
A coil has self-inductance 60 mH. If the current in the coil increases from 1.0 A to 1.5 A in 0.1 second and the resistance of coil is \[4\Omega ,\] the current induced in the coil is

    A)  1.0A

    B)         \[\frac{4}{3}\text{A}\]

    C)  \[\frac{\text{3}}{\text{4}}\text{A}\]

    D)         \[\frac{3}{40}\text{A}\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    EMF induced, \[e=-L\frac{\Delta i}{\Delta t}\]                                 \[=-60\times {{10}^{-3}}\times \left( \frac{1.5-1}{0.1} \right)\]                                 \[=0.3\,volt\] \[\therefore \]Current induced,             \[i=\frac{e}{R}=\frac{0.3}{4}=\frac{3}{40}A\]
