RAJASTHAN PMT Rajasthan - PMT Solved Paper-2001

  • question_answer
    Velocity at mean position of a particle executing S.H.M. is \[\upsilon ,\]then velocity of the t   particle at a distance equal to half of the  amplitude;

    A)  \[4\upsilon \]

    B)  \[2\upsilon \]

    C)  \[\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}\upsilon \]

    D)         \[\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4}\upsilon \]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Velocity in mean position\[\upsilon =a\omega ,\] velocity at a distance of half amplitude,       \[\upsilon =\omega \sqrt{{{a}^{2}}-{{y}^{2}}}\] \[=\omega \sqrt{{{a}^{2}}-\frac{{{a}^{2}}}{4}}=\sqrt{\frac{3}{2}}a\omega =\sqrt{\frac{3}{2}}\upsilon \]
