    ABC is a triangular plate of uniform thickness. The sides are in the ratio shown in the figure.\[{{I}_{AB}},{{I}_{BC}},\] \[{{I}_{CA}}\] are moments of inertia of the plate about AB. BC, CA respectively. Which one of the following relation is correct?

    Solution :

     The moment of inertia of a body does not depend on its mass but depends on the distribution of mass about its axis. Since mass is same for given body, thus it will be depend only upon distribution of mass. Mass is far away from axis BC, thus\[{{I}_{BC}}\]is maximum mass is nearer to AC. Thus,\[{{I}_{AC}}\]is minimum.
