  • question_answer
At the height\[80m\], an aeroplane is moved with\[150m/s\]. A bomb is dropped from it so as to hit a target. At what distance from the target should the bomb be dropped?\[(giveng=10m/{{s}^{2}})\].

    A) \[605.3m\]

    B) \[600m\]

    C) \[80m\]

    D) \[230m\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Time taken by the bomb to reach the ground is given by                 \[t=\sqrt{\left( \frac{2h}{g} \right)}\] Horizontal velocity of bomb\[=150\text{ }m/s\] Horizontal distance covered by bomb \[=150\times 4=600m\] Hence, the bomb should be dropped \[600m\] before the target.
