  • question_answer
The equilibrium concentration of the species in the reaction \[A+B=C+D\] are \[3,\,\,5,\,\,10\] and \[15\,\,mole\,\,{{L}^{-1}}\] respectively at \[300\,\,K\] the \[\Delta G\] for the reaction is:

    A) \[13.81\]

    B) \[-1381.8\]

    C) \[-138.18\]

    D) \[1391.6\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    \[\Delta G=-2.303\,\,RT\log K\],  Here\[R=2\,\,cal\], \[T=300\]                 \[K=\frac{10\times 15}{3\times 5}=10\] \[\therefore \]  \[\Delta G=-2.303\times 2\times 300\times \log 10\]                        \[=-2.303\times 2\times 300\times 1\]                        \[=-1381.8\,\,cals\]
