Sertoli cells or nurse cells are large pyramidal cells present in the wall of seminiferous tubules (germinal epithelium) of human testes. Sertoli cells secrete Androgen Binding Protein (ABP) that concentrates testosterone in the seminiferous tubules. These cells also secrete another protein inhibin which suppresses FSH synthesis. Sertoli cells nourish the developing sperms. Hence, called, nurse cells.
