Which part of cell have enzymes for glycolysis?

    A)  Cytoplasm

    B)  Mitochondria

    C)  Golgi complex

    D)  Nucleus

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The enzymes for glycolysis like hexokinase, phosphohexo isomerase, aldolase, pyruvate kinase etc., are present in the cytoplasm of cell.  In the glycolysis one molecule of glucose is converted to two molecules of pyruvic acid. Mitochondria contains the enzymes of Krebs, cycle (aerobic respiration). Hence, it is called power house of the cell. Golgi complex   is said to be principal director of macromolecular traffic in cell. Its main function is to chemically modify and transport the materials recieve by it. Nucleus is the control centre of the cell. It contains enzymes for replication of DNA, transcription and degradation.
