  • question_answer
If an \[AC\] produces same heat as that produced by a steady current of \[4\,\,A\], then peak value of current is:

    A) \[4\,\,A\]

    B) \[1.56\,\,A\]

    C)  \[5.6\,\,A\]

    D)  \[1.41\,\,A\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The peak value of current \[({{I}_{0}})\] is given by                 \[{{I}_{0}}=\sqrt{2}{{I}_{rms}}\] where \[{{I}_{rms}}\]is known as root mean square value of current. Given,   \[{{I}_{rms}}=4\,\,A\] \[\therefore \]     \[{{I}_{0}}=\sqrt{2}\times 4=5.6\,\,A\]
