On Centigrade scale the temperature of a body increases by\[30{}^\circ \]. The increase in temperature on Fahrenheit scale is

    A)  \[50{}^\circ \]

    B)  \[40{}^\circ \]

    C)  \[30{}^\circ \]

    D)  \[54{}^\circ \]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The degree Celsius\[({}^\circ C)\]scale was devised by dividing the range of temperature between the freezing and boiling temperature of pure water at standard atmospheric conditions into 100 equals parts. Zero on the Fahrenheit scale represents the temperature produced by the mixing of equation, weights of snow and common salt. Boiling point\[=212{}^\circ F,\] Freezing point\[=32{}^\circ \] \[\therefore \]Difference of\[100{}^\circ C=\]difference of \[(212{}^\circ -32{}^\circ )=\text{ }180{}^\circ F\] \[\therefore \]Difference of\[30{}^\circ =\frac{180}{100}\times 30=54{}^\circ \]
