The quotient of the identity function by the reciprocal function is given by

    A)  \[{{x}^{2}}\,\forall \,\,x\,\in \,R\] (set of real numbers)

    B)  \[\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}\,\,\forall \,\,x\in R-\{0\}\]

    C)  \[{{x}^{2}}\,\,\forall \,\,x\in R-\{0\}\]

    D)  None of the above

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    We know that An identify function is,  \[f(x)=x\,\,\,\forall x\in R\] and Reciprocal function is, \[g(x)=\frac{1}{x}\,\forall x\in R-\{0\}\] \[\therefore \] Quotient \[=\frac{f(x)}{g(x)}=\frac{x}{(1/x)}={{x}^{2}}\forall x\in R-\{0\}\]
