    Schizogony occurs in

    A)  RBC of human

    B)  intestine of parasite

    C)  liver of human

    D)  liver of parasite

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Schizogony is an asexual reproduction of Plasmodium (malarial parasite) in which schizont is formed. From the human blood sporozoites enter the liver cells. The sporozoite grows in size to become a rounded schizont called cryptozoite. The latter divides to form cryptomerozoites (=merozoites). The merozoites are asexual haploid forms. The host  liver   cells   rupture   to   liberate   the cryptomerozoites into the liver sinusoids.
