The minimum magnifying power of a telescope is M. If the focal length of the eye lens is halved. The magnifying power will become :

    A)  \[\frac{M}{4}\]

    B)  3M

    C)  2M

    D)  4M

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

                    Minimum magnifying power \[M=\frac{{{f}_{o}}}{{{f}_{e}}}\] Hence, if \[{{f}_{e}}\] is halved, then                 \[\frac{M}{M}=\frac{{{f}_{o}}}{fe/2}\times \frac{fe}{fo}=2\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[M=2M\]
