    Solution :

    Ans.  Part filled by pipe A in 1 \[h=\frac{1}{10}\] Part filled by pipe B in 1 \[h=\frac{1}{12}\] \[\therefore \] Total part filled by pipe A and B in 3 h \[=3\left( \frac{1}{10}+\frac{1}{12} \right)=3\,\left( \frac{6+5}{60} \right)=\frac{11}{20}\] \[\therefore \] Part left \[=1-\frac{11}{20}=\frac{9}{20}\] Now, \[\frac{9}{20}\] part is filled by pipe B in \[=\frac{9}{20}\times 12=5\] h 24 min .
