The equivalent capacitance of the circuit will be

    A)  \[1.\mu F\]

    B)  \[3\mu F\]

    C)  \[9\mu F\]

    D)  \[4\mu F\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Capacitors of capacitances \[1.5\mu F\]and \[1.5\mu F\]are in parallel, therefore their resultant capacitance, \[C'={{C}_{1}}+{{C}_{2}}=1.5+1.5=3.0\mu F\] Now, all three capacitors are in series therefore, their resultant capacitance C will be given by                 \[\frac{1}{C}=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}=\frac{3}{3}\]                 \[C=1\mu F\]
