    Energy loss when the spheres are connected by wire is given by \[\Delta U=\frac{{{C}_{1}}{{C}_{2}}}{2({{C}_{1}}+{{C}_{2}})}{{({{V}_{1}}-{{V}_{2}})}^{2}}\] \[=\frac{(3\times {{10}^{-6}})\times (5\times {{10}^{-6}})}{2(3+5){{10}^{-6}}}{{(300-500)}^{2}}\] \[=\frac{15}{16}\times 4\times {{10}^{-2}}\] \[=0.0375\,\text{joule}\]
